Community Programs

The following Community Programs are sponsored/promoted by the Ewing Recreation Department.

National Night Out - August 2nd, 2022
National Night Out (NNO) is an annual celebration of community held by police departments across the country. It is held on the first Tuesday night in August. It began originally as an event where you would turn on your front porch light and sit outside to prevent crime. Today it has evolved into block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from police, festivals, neighborhood walks, safety fairs, contests, rallies, and meetings nationwide. The event is hosted at the ESCC and includes food, music, fire trucks, representatives from local community groups and more.

Biking   Ewing Green Team Fall Spin
The Ewing Green Team's Fall Spin regularly kicks off Ewing's Community Fest celebration!  The 2023 date was Saturday, September 30! This annual event was held in partnership with the Ewing Recreation Department and is for adults ages 18 and up as a way to promote a more bikeable Ewing.

Trunk or Treat  Trunk Or Treat
A "safe alternative" to trick-or-treating, Ewing’s Trunk or Treat event is usually held the weekend before Halloween.  During the event Ewing children from tiny tots up through eighth grade are invited to gather there and go from car to car, collecting treats.  Treats are distributed by Ewing parents and other adults from their decorated car trunks loaded with candy.  (Pre-registration for all participating vehicles is required.)  All candy must be pre-packaged.  The 2023 event will be on Saturday, October 28 at 3 pm. at Parking Lot #4.

 tree1Mayor's Holiday Tree Lighting

The Annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony provides Township kids of all ages the opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus.  Santa and his elves will arrive by fire truck to light the holiday tree. There will be pictures with Santa, carol singing, refreshments, giveaways and more!  Hosted by the Ewing Patriotic Committee and the Township Recreation Department, the 2022 event will be held at Major General George J. Betor Veterans Memorial Park behind Town Hall on Sunday, December 4th at 5 pm.
