John S. Watson Park is situated on 66 acres off of Upper Ferry Road or Scotch Road. It was formerly called Rambling Creek Park. The site is named for John S. Watson, former Ewing resident, first African-American elected to the Board of Chosen Freeholders in Mercer County, and six-term legislator in the New Jersey General Assembly from the 15th Legislative District. He was the father of our current Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman.
Passive Recreation: Enjoy a quiet experience in our secluded park, have a picnic, take the kids to the playground and/or enjoy a stroll on the grounds.
The facilities here include 2 barbeque areas, a pavilion, picnic tables, 1 adult softball field, and playground equipment. A Port-o-john is on site during the season. The Carlton section of this park has an adult softball field used for league play (Enter from Carlton Ave. - not accessible from the Upper Ferry Road side of the park).
The Lou LiMato Football Fields are accessible from the Scotch Road entrance to the park. It is home to the Ewing Jr. Blue Devils Football.
Take a quick walk over the bridge to access additional facilities at the Fisher Middle School when not in use by schools or recreation sports. These are only for use at the discretion of the public school system and not included in any field rentals.
