Veterans Day 2019

Ewing Township Veterans Day celebration set for Monday

American FlagEwing Township citizens, veterans and families are cordially invited to join Mayor Bert Steinmann, Township Council and the Ewing Patriotic Committee on Monday, November 11th to commemorate Veterans Day at 11 am at Major General George Betor Veterans’ Park, 2 Jake Garzio Drive, at the rear of the municipal building.

The ceremony will mark the anniversary of Armistice Day, November 11, 1918 and honor the service of all our country’s military veterans who served to protect our country’s freedoms.  Armistice Day took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning—the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918 and memorializes the end of hostilities in World War I.

The ceremony will feature Colonel Derek B. Routt, USAF, as guest speaker. The ceremony will include the posting of the colors by Ewing’s Honor Guard, the singing of the national anthem, and special music performances.  The welcome and remarks will be provided by Brigadier General Robert S. Dutko, Mayor Steinmann, and Council President Kevin Baxter.  Colonel Rick Ryczkowski will provide a Veterans Day Recognition and introduce the event’s special guests.

This event is open to the public and members of the community are encouraged and welcome to attend.
