Ewing Township Announces New Equipment Purchase to Enhance Services for Seniors, Veterans, and People with Disabilities

Mayor Bert H. Steinmann is pleased to announce a significant enhancement of Ewing’s services for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities, thanks to a generous allocation of $164,000 from the Biden Administration’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allocation to Mercer County.

americanThis funding will be used to purchase new technology and equipment at Hollowbrook Computer Learning Center to improve the quality of life for these valued community members.

Under the terms of the agreement with Mercer County, the funds will be used to acquire:

  • At least 25 new computers
  • An audio-visual system
  • A projector
  • A smartboard
  • New picnic tables and benches

"We are incredibly grateful for the support from Mercer County, which allows us to significantly enhance our services for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities,” Mayor Steinmann said. “This new equipment will provide better access to technological, health, and educational resources, helping to bridge the digital divide and improve overall well-being."

The new computers and audio-visual equipment will be instrumental in providing educational and recreational activities, health information, and virtual access to services and social connections. The smartboard and projector will support interactive learning and group activities, fostering a more engaging and inclusive environment.

Additionally, the new picnic tables and benches will enhance outdoor spaces, encouraging more community gatherings and social interactions in a comfortable and accessible setting.

The Township of Ewing is committed to ensuring that all residents have access to the resources and services they need to lead healthy, active, and fulfilling lives. This investment in new technology and equipment is a testament to that commitment.
