Brush Drop Off Site Relocated Beginning Monday, May 6th

As necessitated by the long-awaited redevelopment of the former Naval Air Warfare Center on Parkway Avenue and to maintain a prized convenience, Ewing Township is moving its Brush Drop Off Convenience Center at Jack Stephan Way temporarily to the Scotch Road facility at 136 Scotch Road.

Beginning Monday, May 6, Ewing Public Works will begin accepting leaves, brush, and yard waste at Scotch Road. Residents must place brush in the provided dumpsters. Residential curb pickup will continue normally.

leafandbrushdropoffThe Brush Drop Off Site is for residents’ convenience.  Public Works is still picking up brush at curbside.  They are generally in your neighborhood the day after your regularly scheduled garbage collection.  We repeat the requirements as follows:

  • BAG leaves and other yard debris (including grass) must be in biodegradable PAPER bags (no Plastic!) or in CONTAINERS.
  • No loose leaves will be picked up from the curb in fall.
  • BRUSH may be placed at the curb for collection, in lengths no larger than four (4) feet. Brush may be loose or containerized. No trees, tree trunks, or branches exceeding six (6) inches in diameter may be placed at the curb for collection. You may bundle limbs or larger branches with twine, rope, or other similar materials.   The maximum weight is 50 lbs.

Please do not place any materials in the street.  This causes additional clean-up problems on the street surface and in storm sewers and may obstruct visibility, or cause traffic flow problems.  This is as per updated regulations from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection,  and subsequent Ewing ordinance §319 Article V: Leaves, Brush and Yard Waste.
