Ewing Senior and Community Center (ESCC) Update

Ewing Township is moving forward in its work to secure additional funding for the sorely missed, former community center on Lower Ferry Road. 

At the November 2023 public meeting Mayor Bert Steinmann announced plans to apply for $1M from HUD, through the Community Development Block Grant program’s Section 108 Loan Guarantee, once Township Council has approved the plan.   This program is a source of federal funding to state and local communities for housing, economic and community development and other related purposes.

A Citizen Participation Plan is one of several documents required by HUD as part of the pre-application process for the Section 108 Loan Guarantee program. This Plan describes the procedures that the town has been following, providing information on how outreach will be conducted, how and when meetings will be held, the defined period for comment before final draft approval, and how public comments will be addressed.
