The Annual Dog License Canvass is scheduled to take place beginning Wednesday September 6th between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm and continuing weekdays until the end of the year or until all neighborhoods have been canvassed.
The initial period will take place in and around the Weber Park and Glendale neighborhoods. During this period, Animal Control Officers will be visiting each household to gather information about all pets at the residence, verifying rabies vaccines for all pets and licenses for all dogs.
For those that wish to obtain a license immediately, you may contact the Clerk’s office at the Ewing Municipal Building located at 2 Jake Garzio Dr. during the hours of 8:30am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm Monday through Friday.
A dog license canvass is important for various reasons, including:
1. Community Safety: Accurate records of registered dogs help us in emergency situations, enabling a swift response in case a pet goes missing or a situation arises that requires Animal Control's involvement.
2. Public Health: Maintaining an updated dog registry assists us in ensuring that all pets within our community are up-to-date on vaccinations and health requirements, contributing to the overall well-being of both pets and residents.
We understand that your time is valuable, and we appreciate your cooperation in this matter. If you are not available during the canvassing period or would prefer to provide the information beforehand, you can do so by contacting the Clerk’s office at 609-883-2900 or filling out the form located here: https://www.ewingnj.org/dog-licensing
Please call the Animal Control department with any questions at 609-883-2900 x7175 or the Health Department at 609-883-2900 x7619.
Thank you for your cooperation in making Ewing Township a safe and thriving community for all residents and their pets. We look forward to your participation in the Annual Dog Canvass.
