Important Notice: Coyote Sightings in Our Area!

It's crucial to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure everyone's safety.

easterncoyoteHere are a few important reminders:

Stay Informed: Please take a moment to review the linked document on how to safely haze coyotes. Hazing techniques can help deter them and reinforce their natural fear of humans.

Be Vigilant: Keep a watchful eye when you're outdoors, especially during early morning and evening hours when coyotes are more active.

Secure Your Property: Make sure your yard is well-maintained and free from potential attractants. Remove fallen fruits, secure garbage cans, clear away brush piles and overgrown vegetation and seal any openings that could provide access to coyotes.

Report Sightings: If you spot a coyote in our neighborhood, please report it immediately to both Animal Control and the DEP (Department of Environmental Protection) hotline. By sharing this information, we can collectively keep track of their activity and ensure appropriate measures are taken.

Protect Pets: Remember to keep a close eye on your pets when they're outside and keep them on a leash when walking. Coyotes are typically opportunistic and may perceive small animals as potential prey.

Secure Trash and Food: Avoid leaving food sources accessible to coyotes. Secure your trash cans tightly, and do not leave pet food or bird feeders outside.

Let's work together to promote coexistence and maintain a safe environment for everyone. Stay vigilant, stay informed, and please share this post with your friends and family.
