The Ewing Township Song was a joint creation of Chet Lucido and Stanley Vitale Jr. for the 1984 Ewing Township Sesquicentennial Celebration. It’s first public performance was led by Edgar Schier, Vocal Director of Ewing High Chorus, at the Sesquicentennial Birthday party attended by Mayors from surrounding communities.
The original version of the song had 2 stanzas which are in a time capsule Bust of Charles Ewing with other artifacts of Ewing Township.
A third stanza was added at the request of Wanda Howell, now retired Vocal teacher who taught at Fisher Jr. High, and performed the song at many Township events and occasions.
The words in each stanza recognized our Township’s schools, Police Department, Fire Department, Organizations, Government and Neighbors who are “Proud to Be Living in Ewing.”
I’m Proud to Be Living in Ewing Lyrics
Words by Chet Lucido
Music by Chet Lucido and Stanley Vitale Jr.
’m proud to be living in Ewing.
Yes, that’s the place for me.
We have the Lions, Kiwanis, yes, even the Elks,
The Knights of Columbus and everyone else.
You can see forever from old Mountain View.
Next time you pass there say, “How do you do?”
That’s why I’m proud to be living in Ewing.
Yes, that’s the place to be.
I’ve been North, South, east and all thru the West,
But Ewing is the best!
They’re doing all great things in Ewing.
Come by and you will see.
Oh, yes! Our fire departments are second to none,
And our police department can get the job done.
We have school board members who are on the all.
And our Township Council looks out for us all.
That’s why I’m proud to be living in Ewing.
Yes, that’s the place to be.
I’ve been North, South, east and all thru the West,
But Ewing is the best!
You always can take pride in Ewing,
Of that you can be sure
Besides our Seniors and Clergy and sporting events,
We’ve got the right stuff. That really makes sense!!
We have Parks and Playgrounds and Temple House, too,
We have it all and it’s all here for you,
That’s why I’m proud to be living in Ewing.
Yes, that’s the place to be.
I’ve been North, South, east and all thru the West,
But Ewing is the best!
