Ewing Patriotic Committee Hometown Heroes Banner Program

Registration is open for 2026 and applications are being accepted until April 15, 2026!

Ewing Mayor Bert H. Steinmann and the Ewing Patriotic Committee are proud to continue The Hometown Heroes Banner Program. This program is a living tribute meant to honor the brave Ewing men and women who have served our country and community in the United States Armed Forces and First Responders today and in the past. This includes current residents and former residents who have served or are currently serving in any branch of the military or as First Responders.  Each banner will be in honor of a hero and include their name, rank, branch of service, and photo.  The only awards that will be on flags will be the Purple Heart and the Congressional Medal of Honor. Banners will be displayed along Silvia Street light poles from Memorial Day through Veterans Day to both celebrate and remind the community of their dedication to our country.

To qualify, a hero, living or deceased, must have had a connection to Ewing Township (attended local schools, relative, friend, etc…) at some point in their life, also, those honored on war memorials within the community and Veterans recommended by Organized Veterans Groups, such as Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Marine Corps League, Vietnam Veterans of America, etc.
