Ewing Green Team Presents Donation to Anchor House

Proceeds from Ewing’s Community Bike Ride to support runaways and homeless teens

Anchor House DonationThe 6th Annual Ewing Fall Spin officially concluded at the December 14, 2021 Ewing Council Meeting with the presentation of the event proceeds to Anchor House, this year’s ride beneficiary.  A check in the amount of $1190 was presented by Green Team Chair Joanne Mullowney to Anchor House representative Kathy Drulis.  Ms Mullowney commented that the day was a gorgeous day for a ride and participants seemed to really enjoy meeting and riding with other Ewing residents.  It was a wonderful and memorable community event.  In addition, the ride earned nearly $1200 for Anchor House, the largest donation from ride proceeds to date.

The ride is run by the Ewing Green Team‘s Bike Advocacy Group, a contingent of citizen volunteers interested in promoting healthy lifestyles, a more bikeable Ewing, and raising awareness of bike safety,  in conjunction with the Ewing Recreation Department.  After a hiatus in 2020, Saturday, October 2nd saw our largest contingent of biking enthusiasts to date sent off by Mayor Bert Steinmann from the Ewing Senior and Community Center to travel throughout the community for approximately 11 miles.

The Ewing Green Team is delighted to be able to support the good works of Anchor House, a local non-profit which works to provide safe housing and supportive services to empower vulnerable youth and their families.  Anchor House provides food, emergency housing, clothing, —and hope—for hundreds of runaway and homeless teens every year—offering a beacon of survival for youth throughout the Mercer County area.
