Council Approves Resolutions In Support of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

With the passage of Resolutions #21R-114 and #21R-115 at the June 17th Council meeting, the Mayor and Township Council of Ewing recognized two equally deserving annual celebrations.

Juneteenth, or Juneteenth Independence Day, commemorates the traditional observance of the end of slavery in the United States and is observed annually on June 19th.  With the passage of Resolution #21R-114 the Mayor and Council of Ewing Township recognize June 19, 2021 as Juneteenth Independence Day and recognizes the significance of Juneteenth and the observance of the end of slavery as part of the history and heritage of the United States.

June is also LGBTQ Pride month which honors Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ) Pride. With the approval of Resolution #21R-115, Ewing Township recognizes the human rights of all citizens and supports an end to all forms of prejudice and discrimination.  The resolution further affirms the resolve of Ewing Township to promote equality and foster a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.
