Ewing Township is applying for an Urban Parks and Green Acres grant to renovate the pool area at the Ewing Senior and Community Center.
On May 25th 2021 at 6:30 pm the Township Council will be discussing a grant application for of improvements and renovations to the pool area at the Ewing Senior and Community Center. Comments and questions from the public are welcome.
The project will include improvements such as:
- Renovations to the Camp Pool and Sand Volleyball court;
- Reconstruction of the training and wading pool areas;
- Renovations to the historic Bath House;
- New shades;
- New fencing, lighting, electrical work, walkways and landscaping;
The application will be made to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection which has dedicated $2.5 million for the development of Urban Parks projects to municipalities. Municipalities may request up to $500,000 for projects. In the future, another grant application for the project may be made to Green Acres for additional funding.
The township qualifies for this grant since the project has strong historic preservation and recreation components. We look forward to hearing your opinions on the project.
