COVID-19 Update and Vaccination FAQ

We provide a new update on the number of COVID-19 cases in New Jersey, Mercer County and Ewing Township and urge all residents to use extreme caution this holiday season. 

The safest way to celebrate winter is with your household members. If you gather with others, choose outdoor or well-ventilated spaces.  Please stay at least 6 feet apart and wash your hands often.

Additionally, over 1 million vaccinations have been given and the Moderna vaccine has also been approved.  This means more residents will soon be in the pipeline to receive theirs.  We provide the following information from the CDC to answer some frequently asked questions.

This article includes the specific phases of vaccine allocation since the demand is expected to exceed the supply.   These recommendations are intended to provide guidance for federal, state, and local jurisdictions while vaccine supply is limited.

Phase 1a

  • health care personnel and
  • residents of long-term care facilities

 Phase 1b

  • persons aged ≥75 years and
  • frontline essential workers (non–health care workers

Phase 1c

  • persons aged 65–74 years,
  • persons aged 16–64 years with high-risk medical conditions, and
  • essential workers not recommended for vaccination in Phase 1b

Phase 2

  • includes all other persons aged ≥16 years not already recommended for vaccination in the previous phases.
