Make Your Thanksgiving Safer

As the country experiences new highs in COVID-19 cases across the nation, in New Jersey we are also seeing increases as well.

The New Jersey COVID-19 Dashboard reports 3,078 new cases today, with 131 new positives in Mercer County (from Nov 11th).  In response, the Governor has tightened restrictions (Executive Order 194) and be assured that we continue to monitor those changes.

In Ewing we are continuing to see a steady level of new cases with 16 new cases reported yesterday.  We should expect this trend to continue for a while since the virus is present in both our community and county more so than it was a few months ago. And, the holidays are quickly approaching with Thanksgiving just two weeks away.  We are faced with the question: how to celebrate the holidays safely?

Of course, traditional Thanksgiving gatherings with family and friends are great fun but this year, as per the medical experts, the virus is spreading via small gatherings, so they increase the chances of getting or spreading COVID-19 or the flu.  We recommend that you follow these tips from the CDC to make your Thanksgiving holiday safer.

The Safest Way to Celebrate

The safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving this year is to celebrate with people in your immediate household only. If you do plan to spend Thanksgiving with people outside your household, take steps to make your celebration safer.

Wear a mask

Stay at least 6 feet away from others who do not live with you

Wash your hands
