Focus on League Play in Adult and Youth Sports Programs
The Ewing Township Recreation Department’s fall/winter schedule is packed with activities to keep everyone in the family fit and busy during the colder months. A mixture of youth and adult sports programs are now open for registration.
The Ewing Recreation Basketball League (ERBL) is taking registration for the 2019 - 20 season. The deadline for registration is November 1st. Interested players can register for $80 via Communitypass.net/ewing. Late registration is $10 after that date.
ERBL is open to boys and girls in grades K – 12. Games are played on Saturdays at Fisher, Antheil and Ewing High gyms. The Instructional for Grades K - 1 will be held at 6:30 pm, Thursday nights at Antheil School Gym. Check out the league website www.leagueline.com/erbl for more information.
It is time to register for the Ewing Indoor Soccer program that is held at the Ewing Senior & Community Center (ESCC). The registration deadline is Monday, December 30th. Play begins in mid-January.
Grades K – 1 is instructional and will run from 12:00 am – 1:00 pm. The older divisions will play games on Sundays only with the younger divisions playing early in the day. There are no practices and no standings are kept. The leagues are co-ed. The divisions are grouped by grades 2- 3, 4-5, middle school. Register online at Communitypass.net/ewing.
The Ewing Recreation Wrestling program starts November 12th with practices at Fisher Middle School’s new gym on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings for children in grades K-5. Matches are held on Saturdays. No experience is necessary. Register online at Communitypass.net/ewing.
Ewing Recreation has a chess club that meets on Tuesday evenings for youths and adults on at ESCC. Kids will play from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm and adults will start at 7:30 pm. It’s a fun and lively club for beginner through master level chess players. Visitors and new members are always welcome and chess lessons are available. Chess sets, boards, clocks and refreshments are provided. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
Adult Co-Ed Volleyball is held on Wednesday nights at Antheil School from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm. This program is informal and is for all levels of players.
Ewing 7 v 7 Adult Soccer will be coordinating a competitive league on Tuesdays starting at 8:15 pm and a Recreation league on Thursdays. Indoor games are played at the ESCC. Outdoor games are played at the Ewing United Soccer Fields. See the league website for registration information.
The ESCC gym and weight room are open daily. Hours are Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 9:00 pm, Fridays & Sundays 6:00 am – 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Seniors can also workout between 9:00 am – 11:00 am for free.
The ESCC and Hollowbrook Community Center, 320 Hollowbrook Drive has rooms available for rent for small groups to large parties. Kitchen facilities are available.
