Scarecrow Event 2019Coming to Ewing this fall will be a horde of crazy and creepy, festive and fun creatures appearing or leering or maybe just cute and curious throughout our town!  Mayor Bert Steinmann invites all Ewing residents, workers, and groups to get out on the Scarecrow Trail and track down these fantastic creatures for a chance to earn ca$h!   The Ewing Green Team, Ewing Arts Commission and Art Has No Boundaries joined together with the Ewing Recreation Department to help Ewing families, groups, and workers celebrate the Halloween season with 34 Scarecrows placed at local businesses and organizations around our town.

All Around Town Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt

You may be already seeing a scarecrow or two, but the All-Around Town Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt officially begins this Saturday, September 28th and ends on Wednesday, October 23rd.  There will be plenty of time to hunt them down following the clever clues that test how well you know Ewing.   To be eligible to be included in the drawing for the $200 grand prize, you must find the scarecrows and their secret word.  All participants who find 30 or more scarecrows will earn three entries into our drawing.  Participants who find between 23 and 29 scarecrows will earn two entries into the drawing. Participants who find between 17 and 22 scarecrows will earn one entry in our drawing.  Anyone finding ALL 34 of the Scarecrows will receive an additional bonus of 2 entries into the drawing.

Add to the fun and vote for your favorite and the People’s Choice business or organization will win a $100 donation to a charity of their choice.  Contest rules and ballots with fun and challenging clues can be found online at beginning Saturday, the 28th.  Paper ballots can also be picked up at the Ewing Community and Senior Center (ESCC) at 999 Lower Ferry Road, Hollowbrook Community Center at 320 Hollowbrook Drive and the Municipal Clerk’s Office on the upper level of the Municipal Building at 2 Jake Garzio Drive at that time.  Winners will be announced on Saturday, October 26th during the Ewing Recreation Department’s Annual Trunk-or-Treat festivities. They will be on display at the Community Center and highlight the incredible juxtaposition of artistic creativity and recycling smarts by our participants.  Following judgement, the People’s Choice will be awarded $200 and the runner up $100.   To learn more and to register, go to
