9/11 Memorial Service

Remembering our fallen and all first responders 18 years after the terror attacks on America

September 11th MemorialOn Wednesday, September 11, 2019, the community is invited to remember those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks in New York, Pennsylvania, the Pentagon, and around the world on September 11, 2001. The Township’s annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony will be held the Police and Firefighter Memorial in the rear of the Municipal Building, 2 Jake Garzio Drive at 5:30pm.

“Every September 11th we come together to fulfill the promise we made that we will never forget what happened on September 11, 2001.   We remember the innocent civilians who lost their lives and pay tribute to the heroic public servants who gave their lives in the service of others,” said Mayor Bert Steinmann.

The brief ceremony will call for a moment of silence in remembrance of all first responders (Fire Fighters, Police, EMTs), and innocent civilians who died on that fateful day and during the past year.

“As we mark the 18th Anniversary of this tragic day in American history, let us never forget those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, in New York, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania,” said Jim McManimon, “and honor the courage and sacrifice and heroism of our many fellow citizens and first responders who answered the call.”

All citizens are encouraged to take this opportunity and acknowledge both the loss to the country, our community, and to the victims’ families.  Let us stand together and remember.
