Come on out and get to know you neighbors at the 2019 National Night Out! Sponsored by the Ewing Police Department, National Night Out (NNO) is an annual celebration held by police departments across the country! NNO works to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they protect by bringing police and community members together under positive circumstances, while raising awareness about police programs in the community such as drug prevention, neighborhood watch, and other anti-crime efforts.
NNO is held on the first Tuesday night in August. It began originally in 1984 as an event where you would turn on your front porch light and sit outside to prevent crime. Today it has evolved into block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from police, festivals, neighborhood walks, safety fairs, contests, rallies, and meetings nationwide. In Ewing, the Police have hosted the event in recent years at the Ewing Senior and Community Center at 999 Lower Ferry Road and it includes food, music, free access to the Community Pool, fire trucks, representatives from local community groups and more.
Join with millions of American in building stronger communities and make connections with your Ewing neighbors!
