The Ewing Township Recycle Coach Puts Recycling Information Where You Need It at Home or On the Go.

Ewing Township is pleased to announce the launch of Recycle Coach, a free app for your mobile device or laptop.  Uploaded with our Ewing-centric information, you will never miss another recycling day again! 

Confused about what goes where and when? 

Recycle Coach is your place to go for recycling and solid waste information.  The user-friendly app displays both recycling and trash collection information based upon your street address.  It will also let you know if there are any changes in the collection schedule due to holidays or weather. 

Recycling can be confusing.  Some municipalities in the state collect items that are not collected in our area.  Recycle Coach ends that confusion with a What Goes Where? Search tool to type in your recycling question and it will tell you how to dispose of it.  For example.  If you want to know how to dispose of tires, simply type it into the search box and you will learn that you can bring them to the Ewing Recreation Maintenance Building and that there is a $2 per tire charge.  No rims allowed. 

“Recycle Coach is available at no cost to Ewing residents,” says Ewing Mayor Bert Steinmann.  “It will take the guesswork out of trash and recycling pickup and help improve our recycling efforts.  As most residents are no doubt aware, recycling contamination is a major factor in China’s refusal to accept US recycling resulting in markets that are drying up for recycling handlers.  We all need to do a better job recycling to help reduce escalating costs.” 

Recycle Coach is a statewide effort, purchased by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for distribution state-wide.

• Easy access to the customized schedule, including holiday change and yard waste
• Check the collection requirements and set out times
• Look-up tool ‘What goes where’ about recyclables and non-accepted waste
• Set reminders for the special collections and real-time updates
• Use problem report tool that allows to send notifications via email and photos of the issues such as missed collection, illegal dumping, or container replacements
