Soap Box Derby Racing Returns to New Jersey

Ewing Township Hosts a Soap Box Derby Race

Soap Box DerbyEwing Township will be hosting a Soap Box Derby race on Sunday, June 2, from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm on Graphics Drive.  The event is free for spectators and open to the public.  Four divisions will race, Stock, Super Stock, Masters, and Super Kids.  Super Kids cars are specially designed two-seater cars for a racer with special needs and a driver. The Super Kids division still has openings, pre-registration is required.

The All American Soap Box Derby is a youth racing program that has been run since 1934.  Cities across the United States, and in some foreign countries, hold races for children ages 7-19. The 1st place winners of the local races advance to the World Championship in Akron, Ohio to compete for the World Champion title. The cars are gravity powered and STEM driven, giving drivers a learning experience and lifelong memories.  Ewing Township Mayor, Bert Steinmann, and Recreation Director, Ted Forst, have been instrumental in bringing this racing event to Ewing.
