Ewing Features Drawing, Recycled Art & Mixed Media Artist In April

The Ewing Art Commission and Art Has No Boundaries will feature the mixed media, recycled art and drawings of Connie Cruser for the April arts display at Ewing Town Hall.

Connie Cruser The month-long display will include a ‘Meet the Artist’ evening on April 11 from 6-8pm at the municipal building.

"Her work is so diverse in scope – from more traditional drawings to truly unique paper filigree work – her art is truly unique.” said Ewing Art Commission Council Liaison Jennifer Keyes-Maloney.

About the Artist

Ms. Cruser, a long time Ewing resident, has long participated in Ewing Community activities with her husband Rich.   She began her artistic journey in 2014, with a desire to create a portrait of her beloved dog, Kobe.   She combined her two loves, animals and art to create custom colored pencil drawings for others.  Since then she has expanded to create one-of-a-kind mixed media pieces, all created in Paper Filigree.

A self-taught artist, she has exhibited her work and won awards in three categories or styles of art - drawing, recycled art and mixed media - in various shows and locations across Mercer County.  Among the recognition she’s received includes: an October 2018 Certificate of Participation award for representing Mercer County in the 52nd New Jersey Senior Citizen Art Show, in the Mixed Media Non-Professional Category; an August 2018 First Place Award in the Mercer County Senior Art Show, in the Mixed Media Non-Professional Category; an April 2018 3rd Place Award in the Trashed Art Contest held at the Lawrence Branch of Mercer County’s Library System; and an August 2017 Honorable Mention Award in the Mercer County Senior Art Show, in the Drawing Non-Professional Category.

Connie’s artwork has also been shown in group shows and in displays at The Gallery at Capital Health Medical Center, The Gourgard Gallery in Cranbury, The Lawrence Branch of Mercer County’s Library System, Hamilton Township Public Library, The Gallery at Mercer County Community College, Art All Night-Trenton and various locations for “Out of the Ashes- Slice of Art” Shows through Hopewell Valley Arts Council.
