Ewing Township Announces Its Continuing Commitment to Promoting Global Cybersecurity Success by Becoming a Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2026 Champion

Even amidst large-scale data breaches and cyberattacks, Cybersecurity Awareness Month reminds everyone that there are simple, effective ways to keep themselves safe online, protect their personal data, and ultimately help secure our world.

CAM LOCKUP HORIZONTAL full colorEwing Township announces that, with the support of the Mayor and Council (see Resolution #26R-204), it has signed on as Champion for Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2026. Launched in 2004, Cybersecurity Awareness Month, held each October, is the world’s foremost initiative aimed at promoting cybersecurity awareness and best practices. The Cybersecurity Awareness Month Champions Program leads a campaign to create resources for organizations to talk to employees and customers about staying safe online.

Staying safe online isn’t about making one perfect decision.  It is about building and cultivating habits and repeating them consistently in the small movements that happen day in and day out.  If we all follow these precepts, we can all make it difficult for cybercriminals to succeed.

Don’t make it easy for them!  Small actions can make a big difference. We recommend the four basic and easy practices that everyone should follow to boost their online safety.  These include:

  • Using strong passwords and a password manager.
  • Enabling multi-factor authentication on personal devices and business networks.
  • Installing updates on a regular basis and turning on automated updates.
  • Recognizing and reporting scams.

Every year, Cybersecurity Awareness Month continues to build momentum and impact with the ultimate goal of providing everyone with the information they need to stay safer and more secure online.   Ewing Township is proud to support this far-reaching online safety awareness and education initiative which is co-led by the National Cyber Security Alliance and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
