Ewing Township Historic Preservation Society's Colonial Faire Update

Bring your family and friends to the Colonial Faire on Saturday, September 12th, Ewing’s big 250th event featuring 18th century exhibitors and vendors at Drake Farm Park!

1stRhodeIslandRegimentThe major highlight of this special day will be the presence of the 1st Rhode Island Regiment-- one of the few Continental Army regiments with Black and Indigenous soldiers to serve the entire Revolutionary War.  Come and ask them questions and look at their authentic equipment. They will speak with you about how they fought in every battle from the siege of Boston in 1775 all the way through to the end of the Revolution in 1783.

This regiment played a significant role in New Jersey’s war efforts and beyond, demonstrating capability and bravery. These soldiers helped create a path towards inclusion of Black and Indigenous soldiers into the United States military.

The Colonial Faire will be held at Drake Farm Park, 27 Federal City Road, Ewing, from 11 am to 3 pm.  Food, music. Mini-house tours, garden tours and several 18th century exhibitors and vendors will be onsite.  There is free parking on the lawn.  It is hosted by Ewing’s 250th Committee and the Ewing Township Historic Preservation Society.  For more information see www.ethps.org
