The schedule for the Free Rabies Clinics of 2025 for cats and dogs has been posted.

The Ewing Township Health Department runs Free Rabies Vaccination Clinics under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian as a service for all residents who own dogs and cats.  Dates for 2025 are Friday, June 6th from 5 – 7 pm and Saturday, June 21st from 9 – 11 am.

The events will be held at the lower-level parking lot of the Ewing Municipal Building at 2 Jake Garzio Drive.  Vehicles should enter on Graphics Drive by Riverhorse Brewing and follow posted signs and directions from Police/Staff/Volunteers.

For your safety and the safety of others, all citizens and pets will be required to stay in their cars and follow the directions of workers who will guide vehicles through the process.

Proof of licensing and registration for dogs is required for participation.  Pets must be brought to the clinic site on a leash no longer than 6 feet.  No retractable (flexi) leashes will be permitted.  All cats must be in individual carriers.  Every animal must be accompanied by an adult and remain under their control at all times.

Scoop the Poop Reminder

Finally, we offer this gentle reminder that picking up your dog's waste is important for the overall health of our community: your health, the health of your pet, and our environment.

Scooping your dog's poop isn't just common courtesy; it's the healthy and environmentally sound thing to do, AND it's the law!  Township ordinance prohibits dog owners from allowing their pet’s waste to remain on private or public land.

dogi pot2webNew in town - To promote responsible pet ownership in public places, protect the local ecosystem, and enhance cleanliness and hygiene, we recently installed pet waste stations at some of our local parks.  These convenient stations are equipped with rolls of doggie waste bags making it easy for owners to take immediate action to clean up after their pets.  Now, you can enjoy a more pleasant park outing, not having to tote your dog’s business home with you.

Healthy Scooping Tips
  • Always clean up after your pet on walks and remind your neighbors and friends to do the same.
  • Don't allow the need to scoop to accumulate in your own yard - keep an eye out and scoop immediately.
  • Take multiple bags on walks, just in case.
  • Throw out dog waste using a bio-degradable bag OR flush waste down the toilet (where it will eventually end up in a wastewater treatment plant).
  • Do NOT throw dog waste in a compost bin.
  • Start a campaign to get your community involved, installing pet disposal facilities, poop scoopers and other convenient items to encourage locals to clean up after their pets.
