Need to Know NJ Primary Election Voter Updates. Please be sure to check your sample ballot for your polling location and district as there have been some changes to the districts.
Reminder: New NJ voters hoping to cast a ballot in the upcoming primary elections have until May 14th to complete their voter registration. Municipal Clerk Kim Macellaro would like to remind residents that the deadline for registering to vote in the June 4, 2024 New Jersey Primary Election is Tuesday, May 14, 2024. You may register online, by mail, or in person.
IN PERSON VOTER REGISTRATION HOURS are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday at the Township Clerk’s Office located on the second floor of the municipal building, 2 Jake Garzio Drive.
TO REGISTER BY MAIL, you may download a voter registration form below or pick up a paper application from the Clerk’s office. All forms must be received, and you must be registered at least 21 days in advance of an election to vote.
TO REGISTER ONLINE, you will need your date of birth and one of the following forms of identification:
You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible to vote and be at least 18 years old by Primary Election Day. You must also have lived in Mercer County for 30 days before the election. Registration is permanent, and re-registration is only required for a change of name or residence.
The registrant must complete a Voter Registration Application and/or Party Affiliation Form. Mail or deliver the Voter Registration Application and/or Party Affiliation Form to the County Commissioner of Registration or Superintendent of Elections for your county.
Residents serving a sentence, probation or parole because of a felony conviction are not eligible to vote.
The Primary is a party election, and voters must be registered as Democrats or Republicans to participate. A registered voter currently not affiliated with a political party may declare their party affiliation up to and including Primary Election day. However, a registered voter who wishes to change their party affiliation must file a Political Party Affiliation Declaration Form 55 days before a Primary Election. That deadline was April 10th.
Registered voters who prefer to vote by mail for any reason may apply for a Vote by Mail Ballot Application for the June Primary. Applications for voting by mail are available at the Municipal Clerk’s Office or on this website on the Municipal Clerk’s page.
A voter may vote by mail by completing the Application for Vote by Mail Ballot and mailing the application to the County Clerk, with the application being received by the County Clerk at least 7 days prior to the election. A voter may also apply in person to the County Clerk until 3 p.m. the day before the election. The County Clerk also cannot accept faxed or emailed copies of an Application for Vote by Mail Ballot, unless you are a Military or Overseas Voter, since an original signature is required.
Once you apply for a Mail-In Ballot, you will not be permitted to vote by machine at your polling place in the same election.
If you are uncertain about where to cast your ballot, look for updated information about polling locations on this website. See our List of 2024 Polling Locations. Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The Township of Ewing encourages all eligible, voting age Ewing residents to fill out and file their registration application today. For further information, call the Municipal Clerk’s Office at 883-2900 x7609.
