Welcome to the new and improved Ewing Township website!
Over the past year we have taken significant strides to bring Ewing into the 21st century, where an emphasis on digital technology can lead us to being able to better serve you. This idea is not only good for the environment, but a cost-effective way to save money over time. We hope you will find the website informative and that it meets your needs.
As a 55 year resident of Ewing, it is truly an honor to serve our community as Mayor. There is no place I would rather call home than Ewing.
Since taking office in January, 2011, we have made significant progress and in fact we have been able to offer Ewing residents a property tax cut in the coming year. This was made possible by the hard work and dedication of township staff.
Through our continued efforts we have also been able to bring a business climate back to Ewing. Recently, Church and Dwight started construction on their corporate headquarters and with them hundreds of jobs and hundreds of thousands of dollars in new revenue for Ewing. Although much smaller in scale, we have also seen the fruits of our investment along Olden Avenue starting to take shape with much more on the horizon.
But growth starts with planning. As such, planning for the rebirth of GM and the Naval Warfare continues to be a priority of ours. To coincide with the environmental cleanup that is underway, we will continue soliciting your input throughout the planning process to restore economic vitality to Ewing. Please continue participating in the planning process!
Ewing is also fortunate to play host to one the nation’s best institutions of higher learning, The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). Recently, Ewing and TCNJ forged a partnership so that we can work together to solve the difficult issues that all communities with institutions of higher learning experience. Together, we will make this asset work for residents, business and the college.
In many ways, Ewing is about more than just dollars and cents. Our parks and recreational facilities provide opportunities for Ewing families to recreate and just enjoy a day in the sun. The canal path offers a chance for a long walk or bike ride along the scenic Delaware River. We also have bustling industry, and access to the region through mass transit and the interstate system. And let’s also not forget about our history! The path to victory in the Revolutionary War was paved through Ewing, as General George Washington marched his troops through Ewing.
Whether it’s enjoying a little league game at Moody Park, dipping your feet into the Delaware River, or learning how our country got started, Ewing has at it all. I, along with 35,000 other residents, am proud to call it my home.
If you should have any questions, concerns or issues you want to discuss about Ewing, my door is always open to discuss. Thank you for visiting our new website and I sincerely hope you take advantage of this new medium as we move Ewing Township forward.
Sincerely,
Bert H Steinmann
Ewing Township Mayor
