Ewing Features Painter’s Inaugural Show “Primal Dreams”

Release date: 10/31/2017

Ewing Featured Artist of the Month Display at Town Hall

The Ewing Art Commission and Art Has No Boundaries will feature abstract painter Jennifer Mele in November, culminating in a ‘Meet the Artist’ event at the municipal building on November 10 from 5pm to 9pm.

Mele began seriously exhibiting her work only recently, but her message and talent are truly compelling.  Jennifer’s work has been described ‘luminous and fierce.’  Her work is raw and authentic to the viewer. The Ewing Feature Artist program looked to partner with her in light of her message and story.

‘It was only a few short weeks ago that I was contemplating putting myself out into this little world to share my work and art with others. I didn’t have a space to exhibit yet. I didn’t know what to expect. I just had a story and a vision to share.’ Mele says. ‘I am deeply honored and grateful for these opportunities!’

About Jennifer Mele

Mele attributes her creative awakening as the culmination of years of ‘releasing the layers that had covered up her true self.’  A trauma and PTSD survivor, Jennifer hopes that sharing her experience can help others.

‘I have found that the best possible way to help another is to be honest, authentic and to honor myself first.’ Mele told Art Has No Boundariess member Melissa Bennett.

‘I can give what is naturally within me. In doing this, I have connected with a beautiful tribe of artists and creatives, I have reconnected with people, family and childhood friends from my past. I have reignited my desire and passion for life and how I show up each and everyday.” Mele adds.

In addition to art, Jennifer has spent over 15 years on teaching yoga and mindfulness training and over 10 years working with clients and students in art based counseling, workshops and training.

“I like to see my art as conversations and inspirations from within that continue to be an ongoing language with those that view and collect my work.” Mele says.

Ms. Mele’s art will be on display at Town Hall until the end of November.  A special meet the artist’s event is scheduled for November 10 from 5pm to 9pm at the municipal building.  For more information and to view more art, visit Ms. Mele’s website at or on Instagram @JenniferMele.
