Davon Reed Day at ESCC

Release date: 8/8/2017

Autograph signing with Ewing Native and NBA Draft Davon Reed Aug 19th from 8 am - 11 am at the ESCC

Join the celebration for Ewing basketball standout, Davon Reed, the second ever Ewing native to be drafted into the pros, at an autograph signing on August 19th.  Davon will begin his professional career with the Phoenix Suns.

Davon Reed was born in Trenton, New Jersey.  He has been a life-long resident of Ewing.  Davon and his brother Miles were raised by two loving, caring, and supportive parents, David and Rose Reed.  They instilled tremendous confidence, and an undoubtable work ethic in addition to making sure he remained humble, kind, caring and polite.  Ultimately these characteristics and traits became the foundation that Davon needed to excel and become a professional basketball player in the NBA.

Davon graduated from Princeton Day School in Princeton, New Jersey.  Post high school, Davon Reed was fortunate to receive a full ride scholarship to University of Miami, in Miami Florida, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration.  While obtaining his degree, Davon balanced his educational requirements with competing at the highest level of college basketball.  Through a tremendous amount of focus and hard work, Davon received a plethora of awards both on and off the court, including the Athletic Coast Conferences’ top scholar athlete award, third team performance in the Athletic Coast Conference, and first team all-defense in the Athletic Coast Conference.  These accomplishments, along with being a 1000-point scorer, back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances, and many others helped Davon become chosen as the thirty-second pick in the 2017 NBA Draft to the Phoenix Suns.

The journey has just begun for Davon.  He is looking forward to a long healthy, happy, and successful career living out his life-long dream of playing in the NBA.  Davon will work at becoming a better man, endeavoring to be active in his communities by volunteering and giving to causes he believes in.  He will continue to be a role model to his younger brother, Ewing Township, the greater Miami area, Phoenix, and where ever his journey should lead.
