Domestic Animals

Dog Licensing

All dogs age seven months or older must be licensed and immunized against rabies infection, with the latter expiring no earlier than April 1 of the coming year. Licenses may be renewed each June and are valid for one calendar year. Proof of immunization and sterilization (if applicable) is required at the time of licensing.  Licensing is managed by the Municipal Clerk's Office.  For more information seen the Dog Licensing page on this website.

Rabies Clinics

The Ewing Township Health Department offers Free Rabies Vaccination Clinics by a licensed veterinarian periodically throughout the year as a service for all residents who own dogs and cats. Proof of licensing and registration for dogs is required for participation. Pets must be brought to the clinic site on a leash or in an appropriate carrier by someone capable of maintaining control of the animal. Be sure to bring the prior year's documentation with you to the clinic.  Check our Newsroom page for dates for the current year.

Dog Park  at Banchoff Park

Ewing Township has award winning recreational facilities and the Dog Park at Banchoff Park addresses the needs of our canine population to run free and socialize with other pets.  There is a fountain with human and canine spigots.  For more information about using the Dog Park see our Municipal Parks page on this website.

About

Give Me Shelter takes an inside look at the Ewing Animal Shelter and EASEL (Ewing Animal Shelter Extension League) in their efforts to find homes for man’s best friend. From the opening of a new shelter to adoption days, this documentary explores ways in which people can help.  Join us in our efforts to provide these animals with better lives by giving back to local animal shelters.

Our thanks to TCNJ students Carolina Chica, Colin Beirne, Monica Blumenstein, Connor Kennedy and Joe Vasile. Congratulations on a job well done!
